The Smart Track Rudder (kick up) suits many kayaks and skis including outfitting the Surge Surf Ski range with a trailing rudder for river (white water) use.
Flow Blade Housing
Thanks to an internal leverage-rod, it’s a snap to raise and lower your smartrack rudder blade with this tiller and rudder box assembly. It protects the blade in an upright position when you don’t want to use a rudder, and has adjustable spring tension that keeps the blade down in the water when you do. All parts are machines for precision fit and coated the Teflon® to prevent corrosion. This is the Flow model with a top Mount Short Pin Style. Pin length is 45mm
Installs on kayaks with a rudder pivot hole located on a flat or stepped down area on the rear deck or suitable gudgeon mount.
Foil Blade
It looks faster because it is faster! the molded rudder blade is foil shaped so water moves across with less turbulence. Compare to ordinary flat aluminum blades, this design reduces drag and significantly increases turning efficiency. When not in use, its slim profile also exposes less surface area to crosswind drag.
The Smart Track Rudder will require an addtion rudder sleeve for use with kayaks with a moulded hole, however if there is a metal sleeve will likely fit straight in. Many models of higher end plastic skis such as the Surge Drummer & Snapper Skis, Liker skis and .This sleeve will pop straight into the inset hole on these kayaks and has a tab on it that is used to secure the sleeve to the kayak (Normally using a small self tapping screw)
This consists of the Smarttrack Foil Blade as well as the short pin blade housing
